Bishop Long Accusers To Write “Tell-All” Book

The much publicized sexual allegations against Bishop Eddie Long have resurfaced with a recent media interview from two of his accusers, Jamal Parris and Spencer LeGrande. In a recent interview with WSB-TV Atlanta, the two young men told reporters that they are preparing to wrtie a “tell-all” book detailing their relationship with Bishop Eddie Long.

Some have asked if the writing of this book would be “against the law” resulting in jail time for Parris and LeGrande. Due to the fact that this is a civil matter, the young men would not face jail time for violating the order. However, it is almost certain that Parris and LeGrande would be in violation of the settlement agreement.

In an email to members, Bishop Long wrote:
Unfortunately, we are in the media again and people are wondering what I am going to say. All I have to say is what we stated earlier. All parties involved decided to resolve the civil cases out of court. The decision was made to bring closure to this matter and allow us to move forward with the plans God has for this ministry.

I will continue to honor and abide by my commitment of confidentiality and restraint as it relates to the resolution of the civil litigation and will not be diverted from the important work of the ministry.

So, what’s your take? Have you continued to follow the Bishop Long story? Will you buy a copy of the book when and if it comes out? What can we learn from this latest development?

I mean how much money does these jokers need? Who wants to know about all this. I’m starting to think its all about money with them. Are they looking for sympathy or another payday? They should not be surprised when their book doesn’t become a bestseller. To myself and many others, this is old news. We as a society have moved on and are no longer interested in some WILLING PARTICIPANTS who engaged in misdeeds for money, cars and houses and now are looking for a bigger payday. When will this end? You didn’t destroy the Bishop and its my guess as to why you are now coming out with the book. It appears that Satan is using these boys. We didn’t get the Bishop to fall when the story broke so now we will give a detailed description of what happened and maybe just maybe the book will bring him down. I doubt it will because trails and tribulation makes you stronger if it doesn’t kill you. Something may have happened, but God is in the forgiving business and so should man be. What goes around comes around and you will reap what you sow. Set out to destroy this man of God and you will bethe one digging your name out of a ditch. It is my prayer that less than 100 books are sold! Enough of this ridiculous mess already!

  2. LucyGoosey says:

Any decent person will not purchase this book nor support the publishers, Bishop Long should step down to sort this out and get rid of the reproach, The Body of Christ should not resemble the catholic priest order.

  3. There Is So Much Trouble In The Land. Peoples Hearts Are Failing & Need Help Jesus & A True Witness. We Were One Of The Few Churches In The Richmond, Va, Petersburg Tri Cities Areas Open Yesterday After The Hurricane Caused A Major Black Out In The State & Today. We Have No Power But a Commercial Kitchen With A Gas Stove. We Had Services In Our Large Fellowship Hall & Feed Hundreds More Than Daily At Several Location, We Had No Power At Our Main Church & Another Location . Many We Are Feeding Are Not Members Of Our Congregations. As The Senior Pastor I Am Working With Our Members, Staff & Volunteers . We Are Not Paid For This & Have Limited Resources . Churches Need To Be Impacting Our Area & Souls Being Saved & Delivered & Families Being Restored.

  4. For the accused I think this accusation comes that something should change the way we relate with people and feel God’s heart how He is working in our life.We are in the last days judgement is coming to evryone.we cannot hide because invisible people is also watching us.we can hide in lie person but we cannot hide in those are in the spirit world.Even we won the judgement in the court house if what we are doing is not right it will come and come again. So let’s all do good for our self and for people who are looking in us and most of all to God who give us life and chance to be a leader.

For the accuser in this case.Is it really real? What is the purpose of the book?Is to give hope?Or just exposing WHAT?..sexual abuse how many times it happen I think we should write a book that can give inspiration and life for those who are really in need.

  5. Rev. Dr. Hugh Anderson, II says:

I have followed this story, but frankly, I am tired of the running and evading of the issue by Bishop Long. He got caught, and now won[t live up to his responsibility to be honest just for the sake of trying to keep his $ business going. I am tired of all of the dishonesty in the clergy. It is not that we are not human, but we are expected to hold up a higher standard of conduct by being representatives of God on earth. When there is such injustice prevalent in our churches, where can people find the examples that are needed? Then, the other sickening thing is that the parishioners are also covering for these corrupt leaders. When it comes to anybody else, there is a lot of criticism, but a minister….. I frankly am glad that these men are telling it all to cleanse their own souls and minds. And, apparently they are sick of Bishop Long shirking and covering the truth. I agree with Bishop Morton–forgiveness is one thing–but it should be asked for–even if in private–with other clergy or counselors–nobody says it has to be a public statement. Just say something. I will purchase a copy of the book. His supporters seem like it is just one side to the story. But, it is two sides to this story. And, what about justice for all these young men. And, there may be others who didn[t testify. Well, I agree we need to pray, but judgment is a fact of life. When there is an issue that have to be dealt with then there has to be some sort of decisions made, i.e.; courts, dealing with our children, dealing with friction in the church or other organizations–church disputes–people are always talking about judging or not judging–to me this is a cop out for people like me to shut up–close your eyes and ears to the truth. Whether we admit it or not there is truth and lies–right and wrong–we as believers more than anyone should acknowledge this. Regardless to mistakes? that people make or deliberate acts of sin, the church is the one place where justice should prevail. This issue may not stop because Bishop Long is arrogantly going on with business as usual without any penitence whatsoever. For my stance here, I feel like if he was innocent of these charges, he would not have opted to pay millions of dollars to hush it up–let time kill the interest in it–or to somehow disbelieve these five men…I agree, it is a mess, and the church has a job to do. And, part of that job is to teach honesty to our up and coming children who see all of this hypocrisy in the church and among church leaders. God forbid! We are the church. We are governed by the principles of God. We are governed by His Word. This is not a game. …The church is not a big money mafia or scheme. We are in the people helping business…What about teachers who perpetrate on their students–or psychiatrists or doctors who perpetrate on their patients or what about preachers who wear the robes–proclaiming the gospel–programming for ministry only to misuse and abuse our membership. I have seen it in pastor[s meetings where pastors are allowed to perpetrate on members with nothing being done at all by bishops, etc to make sure pastors get counseling, a moratorium or sabbatical from the pulpit for a while, or something. I have seen some cases where young ladies and girls were impregnated by pastors–nothing done–many have left the church–then on the other hand some people enjoy “loose” churches where the preacher or the members can just do what they what to do and nothing is done about it. God forbid! Well…..”Judgment should begin with house of God…”!

  6. Brian says:

Perfect examble of what “religion” has done to black people. Some of you people sounds like pure idiots. Making up stories and blaming Satan, the boys and everybody else except this pedophile pimp that sits in the pulpit. I read the same bible that everyone else does and there is nothing in it that says that I have to check my brain at the door when I enter the church. Stupidity is a learned behavior and most of it is learned in the black church

  7. Ms. Smith says:

Rev. Dr. Hughs with due respect when was the last time you was at New Birth Sunday worship, Wednesday, bible study, church meeting or at at the lawyers office, in a meeting with staff of New Birth and Bishop Long or even talk to the fly on the wall that proclaims to be with Bishop Long every where he goes. …….Times up I’m guessing NEVER but you sure have a lot to say. I know you have preached he without sin ………continue to make your comments on MY Bishop you are making us a stronger body in Christ and making him a stronger Man for Christ……. Thank You !

  8. George says:

If the book brings Bishop Long to repentence, so be it. He doesn’t need to talk about what happened but he does need to repent for the negativity he has brought into the body of Christ. To my knowledge he has not done that.

  9. johnson says:

This homosexuality spirit has gone “wild” in our community. Little kids walking around holding hands. Boys thinking that they were born like this. Girls thinking that they are men. So sad! The Church can’t speak on it because it’s in our church choir and pulpit. People around the world think black churches is a joke. No credibility… If Jesus was approachable, how come you can’t approach these mega pastors? When a Church can’t talk about Homosexuality it looses it’s salt. Can New Birth talk about Homosexuality now? I doubt it very seriously. How come some say He owe’s nobody an explanation but his wife and family and not the church? What in God green earth is going on in Black people minds. Most don’t read their Bible? Where is accountability.

  10. Jo Ann says:

Maybe God is trying to tell Eddie Long something…tell the truth, repent and step down until you get your life in order and stop being so arrogant about it all. ….

  11. Rev. Dr. Hugh Anderson, II says:

Lucy, I especially agree with the “he should step down part”. But, that is the very point…there is NO ACCOUNTABILITY whatsoever with these leaders. Surely, the answer is not in continuing to ignore the situation or situations that occur from time to time in the Body of Christ. God is certainly the one to do the cleansing, I.e.the money changers in the temple. But, money could be these guys motive–who knows? But, this does not erase the fact too that Bishop Long needs at least to say something–not necessarily the dirty details–but something–like, I am sorry that this caused so much negativity to the church or something. I said in my other comments that I would buy the book–I don[t know–the media will have it anyway–I may not buy it or have to buy it. I still don[t think we should be so quick to EXCUSE everything these flawed preachers do. NO ACCOUNTABILITY! And, the church is scared to mess with these strong authoritarian leaders–Why is Bishop Jakes scheduled to make an appearance at Long’s church on Sunday on 24rh year service? when the church well…………………

  12. johnson says:

I agree with Jo Ann, Ms. Smith is very emotional that she is not in tune with reality.

  13. Rev. Johnson says:

To all whom said that this is another plot to get more money I totally agree. These men go from being broken men with a story that only God knows what really happened or not to now rich broken men. God is no where to be seen in this situation. Truth being told what counselor has any of us seen or job have we not been able to work at because of shame and guilt that we need 25 or so million dollars? If this was about getting the truth out there why did they need money in the first place? Why break into a man’s office and steal black diamonds? I wouldn’t steal anything from a church! This entire thing is about money and God isn’t pleased. To the men and women on God who “put their mouths” on Bishop, we all no better! You having a lustful thought is just as wrong as what he was accused of. Sin is sin and wrong is wrong. I will say just as Bishop Jakes said, “everyone involved needs to be prayed for”. Truthfully allot of preachers were jealous of Bishop Long and the things he did and how he carries himself so he slips now the “I told you so’s” come out. This type of stuff is shameful to me. If you were that spiritual to see what was going on, were you fasting and praying for him? This big church little church stuff is cripiling our ministries. If you have 5 members in a store front or 30,000 members in a complex work what God has given you. I will pray for the boys, Bishop Long, and for everyone putting their mouths on the man of God.

  14. Joyce Black says:

My, My, My,what a mess we seem to find ourselves involved in as Black people.
The tragedy is not so much Bishop Long’s seemingly misdeeds of supposed sexual encounters with young men, but rather the hypocrisy of prior messages denigrating homosexuals.Far too many ministers have not preached sermons of enlightenment about the phenomenon of hermaphrodite births. A physical genital disorder which affects millions of people world wide. Some say as many as up to 1% of babies born in America are afflicted with this disorder. That being said, where is the Church’s compassion for children born with multiple genitals? who will have to endure painful surgical procedures so as to give them a definite sexual identity. Even then, there is no guarantee that the “sexual organ chosen” from the procedure will become the sexual preference of the individual as they get older. No one knows what burdens another is carrying…that is why Christ said judge ye not! Knowledge is also power according to the writings within the scriptures.Having worked in a hospital and saw many such cases, my heart ached for the babies as a coin was flipped to determine which sex the child would be given…Each of us staffers knew these children would grow up one day in a world that would ostracize them for being homosexual if the right genital had not been provided to accommodate the sex change behavior. Could it be that, Bishop Long and the young men with whom he has supposedly engaged in sexual encounters with, be victims of a circumstance from birth for which they can not discuss openly?…
It’s a legitimate question!!! If not, at best we all should ask this question,
why then does GOD allow babies to born and placed in such a precarious position to suffer ridicule all one’s life?…Perhaps God does not see these kind of babies born as being in a flawed condition as He does create all of us beings. Scriptures also tell us People perish for their lack of knowledge.
Medical science sez Hermaphrodite male babies born will always reproduce more hermaphrodite children. The male gene will always reproduce itself …contrarily female babies may or may not reproduce that same gene.
So before so called Christians continue to criticize that which they know little to nothing about…Perhaps all responses regarding someone else’s sexuality should only remain yea, nay or it’s not my business.

  15. Lillian says:

All I will say is that God will Judge all sin.

  16. TJ Wilson says:

My message is to the young men looking to publish this book. God tells us in Galatians 3:15 that when we make a covenant, even though it is a covenant with man, let know man disannul that covenant. If you made a promise not to disclose the details of the events that may have occurred then let the situation subside. Think of David who knew not to attack king Saul, who was anointed to the position, even though God was judging him. Being a victim does not give one the right to turn around and victimize the person we declared has hurt us. The thing that you wanted him to do was the Christian thing according to what the Bible said. I am asking you to do the same thing. You made a covenant to not talk so let God determine what needs to be done with Bishop Long next and trust God’s judgment.
In fact, for everyone let us all do the Christian thing and work to create restoration for both parties. God desires that both be made whole. Let us pray that God will place people within their proximity who will be able to minister to them at their level so that they both will be restored back to God.

  17. johnson says:

@Sis Joyce Black, people know right from wrong. People choose to do what they feel. God gives us a choice to serve him or not. I’m not perfect but that homosexual sin has no place in the body of Christ. Say what you wanna say. Two sticks can’t reproduce just like two bushes can’t. If there is a birth defect we can pray and surgery. When the President of the United States talk about Gay rights and don’t talk about African Americans. Something is wrong..

  18. johnson says:

When my son walks into a public restroom and see two men having oral sex. I got a problem with that and if you don’t read your bible.

  19. L. Green says:

This is a sad day for the leadership of the Church. Anytime we think we can continue the work of God with dirty hands & an unclean heart is a problem. Eddie Long needs to repent for his sin, step down from ministry & spend a considerable amount of time before God. A convicted & repented heart is NECESSARY in order to continue to be an ambassador for God. He is no longer anointed to do the work of God. Anointing has everything to do with having the presence of God with you & God would never abide in a vessel that has a lifestyle of unrepentant sin. Although Gods’ gifting is without repentance his anointing is expensive. Right now, Eddie Long, like Samson, is running on fumes and doesn’t even know it. He is operating on what he thinks he still has which is the anointing. His gifting will only take him so far without the anointing of God. It would be such a tragedy for his life to have started so well only to have a failed ending.

  20. johnson says:

    Amen.. L. Green (Beautiful)

  21. Rev. Dr. Hugh Anderson, II says:

@Ms. Smith: I hope that you read every word of what I said, first of all, and that you do understand that whether I have been to New Birth Bible study or not is not the issue here. Bishop Long is a great speaker, teacher, preacher, organizer, etc. But, none of that excused our sins or going on like nothing has happened. I really don[t see how one can sit up under this type of hypocrisy– regardless to the programs, etc of a church. I am not forgetting that wrong is wrong–no matter who is guilty. I have seen this type of behavior growing up in the church–it has touched people close to me and nothing is ever done. I SAY TIME OUT FOR BIG PREACHERS GETTING AWAY WITH THIS KIND OF GARBAGE. I have said my peace–aired my frustrations–appealed to the masses–We are not called upon to continue to be silent and “let the Lord take care of it”. No, He also wants us to do something. READ 1COR. 5.1F ON DEALING WITH A CASE OF INCEST IN THE CHURCH/SEXUAL IMMORALITY IN THE CHURCH. Paul said, I have heard that there is sexual immorality among you–the such that is not even tolerated by pagans. A man is sleeping with his father[s wife–this ranks in the category with what is going on today–and this incident of homosexual activity here. Verse 2 says and you are proud–saying nothing–doing nothing, etc. He(Paul) says shouldn[t you have gone into mourning and put out of fellowship this man who had done this. Well, according to people today. The answer is to do nothing–say nothing–let it ride–if it[s a major leader–just be quiet and let God handle it. Paul said that I am not even there, and I have PASSED JUDGMENT–AND YOU HAVE DONE NOTHING. PLEASE READ THAT ENTIRE CHAPTER! Enough said!

  22. johnson says:

    Oh..My @Rev. Anderson

  23. watch and pray says:

We as a people, need to stop putting prophets, apostle, bishop, evangelist, teacher or whomever they call themselves on a pedestal. The bible says, There is no respector person and He chasten those whom He loves.. …..meaning no one is exempt!! the spoke word that is spoken over the pulpit also applies to them as well…
No matter who you are, when you fall into a sin nature…than that person should be “judged” based on the word of God…..regardless of what position/title is being held in the church…..THERE IS NO RESPECTOR PERSON people!!!
We sound foolish using “touch not my anointing”…”be careful putting your mouth on the bishop” etc…aren’t we all anointed, called to do a work for the kingdom???…Roman 13:8 tells us to owe no man nothing but love….In the black church…we need to gain FULL UNDERSTANDING of the word..so when untruth is being taught over the pulpit..we won’t be so easily fooled….

These hireling touch our children!!! wives….. and break their spirits…with biblical untruth!!!! and we still continue to follow them and sow our seed in their ministry..AND YOU WONDER WHY YOU AREN’T PROSPEING….the bible…He is a jealous God… hold no one higher than Him..

The church is really looking “foolish and bewitched right about now”…..not looking like the spiritual hospital that she should be…but looking like a place of harlots, and “Den of Vipers”…losing our revelance in the media and unto a fallen world…..

Remember Achan (joshua 7:1-26)…his action affected the entire community….until him and his entire extended family was burned and stoned to death…the community suffered…Read the story for yourself.. purchases a strong concordance…and than you will be able to rightly divide the word..once you leave church …..

when these “non repenting individuals” are sat down……..your marriages, finances, and your spirit will show some improvement….if you are in a church where you know ungodly behavior blatantly exist…run for your spiritual lives!!!

We as a body of Christ need go on a fast….REad Isaiah 58, it explains it!!!. than call a deliverance line….casting out our strong holds and demons…Leaders should go first….Since we are the ones that suppose to be caring for the sheep!!!

Maybe than church the will begin to hear what “God” has being trying to say

Job 7:1-3 speaks of a “Hireling”, If you are reading this posting…don’t get upset…truth shall make you free…just simply repent if it applies to you….stopped being like the foolish galatians!!!! or The rich even in death was ignorant…wanting someone to get him a drink of water…..

REPENT HIRELING’s…false teacher, leaders, bishop or whatever you call yourselves…go somewhere and receive some “true deliverance” ..
Because if you don’t “exposure and correction is scheduled”

Full Exposure is upon this land….He coming back for His church without a spot or wrinkle…

Be blessed and seek God for full restoration

  24. Crystal says:

Ms. Smith is in denial along with the others who remain. Those who remain there have placed their “christianity” in the hands of an unfaithful leader and they have become deaf and blinded by his smooth speech and blank demeanor.

The same amount of accountability they’ve placed on Eddie Long (no titles here!) is the same amount of accountability they have for themselves in this situation. In other words, there is no justification for anyone to remain there as long as he is in leadership without repentance. Let’s hypothetically say that the guys are delusional (which of course they aren’t)…Eddie Long has not even shown any remorse for a possible delusion on their part!
You also should consider the fact that more than one guy– none of who knew the others spent time w/ Long– came forth. They have tattoos of his name on their bodies! Helloooo! What are some of these people NOT GETTING?

As an aside, Creflo Dollar’s members need to evaluate themselves as well and why they’re still sitting under HIS ignorance and blasphemy, and yes I will call it what is b/c he’s already done it to himself by opening his OWN mouth w/ stupidity regarding this issue. He is so arrogant and prideful– I know that by God’s grace anyone can change, but he needs serious help as well, which will not come unless he drops his pride.

People are losing their minds b/c they are far away from God. He is always near, but WE run, WE hide, We shun Him and His Word. This is evident in all of the terrible cases that have come to light within this decade alone. This has not been a good season in the Church, period, when you look at its representation in the media. We need to turn back to God.

  25. Angie says:

The bible says if you have common sense and wisdom you are richer than anybody. Look at this mess that has happened and that scripture speaks volumes to it . I have no control over what people say or do, all I know is they can’t change my mind about the God I serve remember God is in control and he knows everything. These people are not going to get away with what they have done for God says I will give them the reward they so richly deserve. So our opinions don’t count for crap because we have no power over what people do. Make sure your closet is clean and you are trying to live right that’s all that matters to God remember you can’t fool God so mind your business and get on about the real work of saving souls nothing else matters.

  26. Mrs M says:

I can’t believe that you think this about money! The church, (Black Church) needs a wake up call.. TELL IT ALL! SHOUT IT FROM THE ROOF TOPS!
I am so sick of the mess I see going on in church. If we are going to excuse pastors, deacons etc.. for thier bad, hurtful actions and say forgive and forget why go to church, ( the church) is no better than the world.
The black church, every denomination has coverd this mess up for far to long… He should be in jail, he could have all th gay sex he wants. I feel sorry for his family they are forever attached to his sin..
I speak from experience, a pastor molested me when I was seven years old.Another one at eleven. I went through some tough years became a mother at fourteen. You want to protect the man, what about the children.. Took me a long time to get back to church and God. I attend church and I work with children. I let them know I am here for them, and I will listen and get them help. My children are grown now, they hated my over protective nature but it was for thier good. I never check my, brain at the church door or anywhere.

  27. LEE says:

Why are they writing the book? Ff you have been abused..you will realize that by telling your story, it helps you deal with the situation and bring closure. The Sin took place in the dark; however the light will expose all……These young men and the Reverend will each be held accountable for their actions.

The young men are exposing the situation…regardless if the body of Christ approves of their method of exposure!

I’m a preacher and agree 100% they should tell their story..as it will help the many that are currently in abusive situations….in and outside of the church as abuse does exist!

We can act as if abuse does not exist in the church similar to the Catholic Church, but let’s open our eyes and expose the devil and tell the truth as the truth shall set/make you FREE!

  28. Ms.Fisher says:

Enough say by each of you on this blog the bottom line Is REPENT! REPENT! REPENT! Ask for FORGIVENESS for we all have fallen short of the GLORY OF GOD!! He really needs to apologize to the body of Christ. Step down for awhile to get his self together because clearly there is a issue with him and his sexuality. On the other hand the men should tell it all and leave it alone when it’s done you’ve taken the settlement now move on.

  29. Me says:

These young men appear to STILL be in a lot of pain and they simply want to “Make Bishop PAY” by any means neccessary. The shedding money is not good enough, as they have said that they wish they could burn the money that has reportedly already been given to them. Take the case of the late King of Pop;even when all that money was given to the accuser and his family, the child said his life was Unbearable and nothing good came from taking the money. I feel the same is true in this situation. And another thing, writing a book, I would think, would violate the agreement that has already been put in place by all parties involved. So they run the risk of possibly getting into more trouble. I just do not believe they will ever find peace….sad, but true. We must truly bow our heads and pray for all those involved.

  30. shawn says:

To all rose that feel that the good bishop did not do anything, I was not there did not see anything bit he who is without sin cast stones. People that live in glass house should not throw stones.

  31. shawn says:

He seems honery, arogant like he did do something. If he did not do anything, he should say just that.
O do not know what to believe. Only God can judge him, not man

  32. Rev. Dr. Hugh Anderson, II says:

Amen! Crystal, @watch & pray, Mrs. M, Pastor Lee, and others….time is over for the church covering up these habitual sin and sinners with no remorse–consistent violators of the Word, especially leaders–the Church is God’s representative in the world, and church leaders are representatives of our Lord until He comes back again. We cannot stand or sit idly by and allow satan to perpetrate on us and God’s Church.
So, perhaps, for closure, these men are clearing the air. Why be aggravated with them? and not the perpetrator? They are attempting to get some closure for themselves–no one knows until it happens to you, or your children, or someone close to you how it affects an individual when someone violates your loved one or yourself. Think about it! This is serious psychologically, emotionally, and socially–also affects one spiritually as well. I am over and out!

  33. RAINY says:

THANK YOU FOR EXSPOSEING THESE WOLVES,THANK YOU LORD!

  34. LG says:

Bishop Long’s wife is filing for divorce. I think that speaks volumes.
