That was a mad message!!!!!!!!!!!!! U can not openly rebuke a pastor ,bishop ,the bible said in proverbs we r to be fittly spoken ,we as leader have to watch what we say in and out the pulpit we cant pearch mad messages and think that god is in the mixs. How do u not know he didnt repent to god that who matter ,no bishop r pastors r whoever can get u to god .whatever he did ,if he did it r not let god take care of it god bless u all.

  2. Linda says:

This was not a mad message, it was biblical (with scripture to back it: book, chapter, and verse. Back in the ole church saints had to come before the church and confess their sins and seek forgiveness. A Shepherd is no different, remember the babes in Christ are watching . Bishop Long was not on trial in the news, the entire Body of Christ and their faith in Gods word was on trial.
    1. This whole situation was mishandled from the very beginning.
    2. All involved should have been sat down because God is not the author of confusion.
    3. Confession, repentance, forgiveness, then restoration would be needed. (God restores fallen people. L

  3. Linda says:

    Continued from above:

This is a year of ORDER. God is going to continue to expose the facades until we restore order in our churches, homes, and families. His house shall be called a house of PRAYER. Anything being done in His house that doesn’t glorify His name will be expose.

Its time believers start rebuking the demonic spirits lingering in the pews so true deliverance can take place.

Bless you Bishop Morton for taking a stand!

  4. Brandon says:

I agree 2000000%! How can you be a leader in the body of Christ and not let your followers know that you made a mistake!? We all fall short of the glory of God but Bishop Long called them boys liars and is still standing by that claim when he knows he is the liar! We can forgive him but not if he continues to pretend like he is the victim! Can you imagine how those boys look in their own community since Bishop won’t admit he messed up. It’s sad… The true victims are those boys and his congregation which has to GUESS rather or not their pastor did this.. He should remove all doubt from his flock’s mind so that they can focus on his teachings and not wondering if their pastor is a liar…

  5. Leo says:

Bishop Morton is 100 % correct.

  6. Shawn Davis says:

I totally agree with Bishop Morton, he is the one who ordained Bishop Long in 1994 and had the spiritual authority to do so. It’s 100% biblical. It’s not about judgement, it about being accountable to the people you serve.

  7. andrea says:

he should have rebuked him.theyre both doin the work of the lord and to notice that one your brother in Christ has fallen or has become worldly and you look the other way as to say GoD will fix it ..Not..GOD fix it when he allow a SPiritual Leader-Bishop MOrton to know. i really dont understand the Bishop Long belongs to GoD and GOD will fix it comments..,this is what happens when you will not listen to GOD privately.GOD allowed this to become public.

  8. frank langston says:

Trading the Witch for the BROOM ……………………………………… You know theose people must be ready to jumpm off a wall

  9. Yvette V. says:

I believe Bishop Morton is using this Bishop Long’s situation to bring attention to himself. But, God is visiting all Pastors in this hour and temptation is not too far. Its coming.
Yes, he had his scriptures, so do a lot of other people who misuse the scriptures to justify what they are saying. God commissioned us to preach the Gospel of the kingdom, and nothing else. There is a way to do things, and that looked like someone who is trying to pull the spotlight on himself.
We host all of these conferences after conferences and nobody is getting healed delivered and set free. Like children in the marketplace playing. Still doing as the Israelites did, ate, drank and rose up to play, Play what?
Play church. We need to stop acting like we are God and have a hell and heaven to put someone in, when we don’t. Look in the mirror at you, people. Let a man fall and you will see some of the meanest and ugliest folk in christendom.

  10. Minister Tamara Trotter says:

Something happen and none of us will ever know the truth. Only God and the people surrounded by whatever has happen knows the truth. No one, on this earth is perfect we all everyday of our lives fall short of the Glory. When Jesus died on the cross, He paid the ultimate price to save all of us from our sins. Lets get together and pray for each other and stop pointing fingers like we are perfect. We are One Body in Christ. Together we will rise divided we will fall.

    God Bless,
and may we all have peace and forgiveness in our hearts.
    Minister TT

  11. Helen says:

God Have Mercy on ALL of us. Bishop Morton was out of order. Does he really think that God was pleased with that move? Perhaps he needs to go back and read his bible somemore. I ask God to have special mercy upon him. He must remember that he too has a past. God forbid that all of it is not exposed. Perhaps he may need to be sat down and rest. We sure don’t want another break down to occur, or has it already begun? This act from “the new kid on the block” sounded like a kid who was upset with the other players because he was NOT the big dog. Not thinking right….God did not instruct him to do that. That action was not spirit lead. Was this another selfish act to promote himself. Does he feel better? Does he have peace? The world is laughing at how we treat one another.

    Be careful what you say,
    Helen

  12. Rick says:

Years ago when bishop Morton entered into a business venture and it went sour, he publicly acknowledged it and the body of Christ saw him through it.
Bishop Long is wrong and should have been told so by his close friends, TD jakes and others for whom
He preaches. Anyone who thinks otherwise is totally ignorant of scripture and needs to be taught themselves. Preach on Bishop Morton and let the church say, Amen!

  13. ACTIONJACK31 says:

I think that Bishop Morton did this to bring attention to himself also. funny that the day he released this video he also started his youtube account for the church… also people have to read the scriptures more carefully, the scripture in reference is if someone personally does something to you. Bishop Morton was not involved in this in any way…. I look at this and comments of others and feel that its gossip…

  14. Tina says:

What Bishop Morton did was absolutely right. Eddie Long needs to be held accountable for what he was done. The Body of Christ must hold one another accountable for our wrong doings. For those of you who feel that Bishop Morton is so wrong, ask yourselves this, would you allow Eddie Long to be around YOUR son????

  15. Lynn says:

As a church leader, I agree with most of what has been articulated regarding Bishop Morton’s comments. Long is not a victim, as would be proposed. Yes, all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.blah blah blah…And yes, the whole situation was embarrasing to the body of Christ. However, Bishop Long’s reputation as being arrogant far exceeds his reputation as a molestor. Perhaps if he had shown humility, some may have come to his aid and defense. But who can defend you, when you act like you dont need help, prayer, or assistance from your parishioners/superiors? Has he demonstrated any remorse and, to whom is he accountable: God and his wife only?

Secondly, has anyone considered what fire Bishop Morton was under for NOT addressing this? As a leader/overseer/Bishop, he felt he had to address this travesty since Long has NOT. When we our ‘caught’ in something that is of questionable character, it is up to us to yes, seek God but also those whom God put in place to pray, cover and counsel us. When you don’t seek “a covering”, don’t expect to be COVERED. Selah

  16. kasha says:

I agree with Bishop Paul Morton. What is wrong with the so called christians today. We sit around in silence when we know something is wrong and do not speak out. Jesus walked and spoke out. Remember satans greatest power is deception. NO MAN is GREATER than GOD.

  17. HisServant98 says:

Actionjack 31 and all you other unlearned people thinking that Bisop Morton was wrong, you need to read your Word. Read Luke 17:3-4. Open sins require open rebuke and repentance. It’s done in churches now just as it was in the ‘old’ days. For example, when girls get pregnant in the church they have to stand and ask for forgiveness. If baby daddy is in the church, then he gets up as well and asks for the church’s forgiveness. Jesus is on His way back – you can see it so clearly. And if we don’t correct this foolishness that we see then the blood will be on our hands. Judgement begins at the church.

  18. Ms.Cox says:

I agree with Bishop Morton, we can’t afford to sit back and excuse sin. We were not created to worship man, we were created to worship God! When we are exposed it’s an opportunity to show the world that we are not perfect but redeemed. Bishop Long should boldly speak on the situation and clear the air. I’m sure he’s not the only man out there with sexual issues. Kirk Franklin, has set the best example yet.

  19. supermario says:

I’m very disappointed in Bishop Morton’s action. For one, Bishop Long is not apart of Morton’s organization. He also further inflicted speculation that the allegations are true just because there was a settlement. Since Bishop Long is submitted to Bishop Jakes, I would feel totatlly different if it came from him. Bishop Morton is not Long’s spiritual father.

Further, the notion that open sins requires open rebuke only applies if Morton had gone to Long in private first and tried to get it right. Just because someone doesn’t return the phone call does not constitute that he fulfill the provision in the word that tells us how to go about getting things right when someone is offended. They live in the same city. If Morton was so concerned for him, then why didn’t he just show up at his church?

Morton made a bigger mess of a very messy situation. I am thoroughly disappointed in his actions. When Morton lost his mind a few years back, who took care of “his” precious Full Gospel fellowship: Bishop Long. Morton should have gone to Long, first considering himself, before unleashing a rebuke that is without merit.

  20. Pastor Nate says:

To Supermario and others that may have a problem with the whole Bishop Morton rebuke.

First of all, I hope that each of you have taken a posture of prayer to seek the Lord’s guidance and direction on where we are as an Ecclesia (The Church) before posting. Understand that the Lord is repossessing what is rightfully HIS and is releasing HIS Glory on those that seek HIM and His righteousness. With the repossessing comes a repositioning and a reordering.

Regardless of past sins, failures and mishaps, Romans 3:23 says: “23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God…” and our responsibility for dealing with those that fall is found in Galatians 6:1 which says: “Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted.” Now that the alleged sin nature and activity of a person has been exposed, can we agree to forgive him; can we agree to restore him, and can we agree to move on with the advancement of the Kingdom Agenda? That would be the Kingdom thing to do!

The Lord is restoring our integrity, accountability and responsibility to the pulpit. The games and gimmicks are over.

I’ve heard the YouTube clip and Bishop Morton states clearly that at some point, Bishop Long stopped taking his calls, which suggests that he was no longer interested in talking about the issue of restoration anymore and coming out with a statement, so it had to go public. Now that’s where the problem is and it seems to me that there is still some level of pride and arrogance that has to be dealt with. Since he licensed him Bishop under his signature, E. Long was subject to the open rebuke regardless of his autonomy.

All of us at some point have benefitted from Bishop Long’s ministry in some media form or forum, so let’s not discount him; he is not the son of perdition here. The Lord can still turn this thing around.

The repercussion of these alleged sins and subsequent payout will affect so many areas of ministry to include: will the church be able to maintain the current financial holdings of the current facility- it may be in jeopardy because to foreclose on the building of that stature would bring further shame to the Body.

Lastly, we should all take real good note from this debacle and govern ourselves accordingly in the pulpit. The benefit in all of this is that the Church (Globally) has not ceased in functioning as to who she is, and not will one man stop it.

    Be blessed.

  21. Shantel Williams says:

I admire Bishop Paul Morton for this message. I sounds very loving yet with a message of rebuke to Bishop Long. It bothers me when people feel that when it comes to leadership, that they are exempt from repentenance. Why? Is it because they wear a collar, gold chain, or the “sanctified seats” as my pastor says. We can say that we can embrace what has happened and move on with Church business as normal, but that is because we are not the victims. It is very hard for a child, or even an adult to move on in life after rape or inappropriate sexual acts. I never say I can sympathize with people who are like that because I never experienced it. These boys will not be able to receive from this man any words from God because we forgive, but don’t forget. Even if they get married and have sons of their own and remain members of this ministry, I bet they won’t trust Bishop Long with their sons! Let’s be real and honest, unwanted or invited sex is very hard to overcome and it can do damage to your future relationships. It is really sad that when people come to the house of God for acceptance, love and safety, they get faced with challenges that the world have with petafiles.. it is really getting dangerous! My child’s virtue and future means more to me than anything! Sorry, I have to agree with Bishop Morton.. tell me something…. or show some signs.

  22. Brother B says:

People listen Bishop Morton did exactly what a TRUE man of God was suppose to do. Being the presiding Bishop that ordained Bishop Long, (what better person to call the truth out). bishop Morton is not the first to call others out when they transgress on others. Bishop Smallwood E Williams called his own son out and warned him the first time his did wrong, but sat him down the second time when he repeated his sin. Bishop Charles Blake had sat bishops down in the COGIC that did wrong in their movement. Bishop Bonner has called out leaders in their church movement and rubuked some down through the years. As men of God they are commission to do so. Why would you want someone to continue to stand and preach to you when they’re out raping your sons or daughters, running through the flock crying wolf yet they’re wolves themselves. Get your minds out of denial mode and see the truth for what it is. I thank God for strong men like this that still call sin, SIN! God is bringing his church house back to the way of old and if it means exposure, then church get ready because many more will be exposed. In this day and time YOU better know Christ for yourself because man will let you down.

  23. Sweet Spirit says:

This is the kind of message I was waiting to hear. Bishop Paul Morton is 100% correct. Those that is against this message are just babies in christ and please do forgive them. If this happen during Pauls ministry in the bible he would have been kicked out of the church. Don’t believe well there was a situation in a church in the bible where a man was having sex with his fathers wife and the church was very accepting of this, kind of like T D Jakes, and Creflo Dollar is with Bishop Eddie Long, But Paul told them that this sexual immoral action should have made them sad and that they should have put him out of the church. Having said that I believe that Bishop Eddie Long should be sat down until he repents and get help. I was hoping to hear this open rebuke from more of the pastors and preachers who are seen in the public all across this world. That is what saddens my heart that they go on about this like its nothing. Bishop Paul Morton you have spoken the God given truth that is straight from the word.

  24. Kaye Bradley says:

Bishop Morton as a Spiritual Authority to Bishop Long had every right to rebuke him. He was the one who ordained Bishop Long as a Bishop.

  25. Anita hall says:

I see nothing wrong with this message..I believe more pastors should have spoke on this issue also. Bishop Morton spike in love and I am happy to see it done.

  26. Justice Maswanganyi says:

I disagree with Bishop Morton, I’ve just watched the video and I know that this is not a love rebuke. I think Bishop Morton was pissed off by the way Long handled the case. He does sound so angry. Call it “holy anger” but its not. Truth is none of us know what happened with the Long case. all we know is that the lawsuite was settled. As for whether he is guilty or not, God knows. How can Bishop Morton say he cant forgive unless long repent. That is not Christian, we do not forgive because people have repented, but we forgive because God forgave us. Bishop Morton must repent from his view of forgiveness> Forgiveness is based on what God did for us not what others did to us. Second you cannot repent unless you have sinned. For him to say Long must repent he must be certain that Long has sinned, yet he makes it clear that he does not know, calling on Long to tell him something. Just because a person is not returning your calls does not mean that they have something to hide nor that they are guilty. It might mean that they do not want to talk with you. If Eddie Long has sinned, as a body of Christ we should forgive him as Christ forgave us, which is why I agree with Creflo Dollar. and once again, if he has sinned, then we should pray for him as Bishop Jakes says that all may need the blood out of this. Accusing and making public rebukes of what we are not sure of will cause us to sin, I will close by saying that should I have sinned in writing this comment, please forgive me and pray that God forgives me as well. We all need the blood

  27. lovejoy1 says:

I CERTAINLY AGREE, AFTER WATCHING BISHOP MORTON VIDEO, HE WAS TOTALLY OUT OF ORDER, THIS WAS TO BRING ATTENTION TO HIMSELF AN PREY ON BISHOP LONGS MEMBERSHIP, WOW, BISHOP MORTON NOT LIKE YOU DO NOT HAVE MESS IN YOUR LIFE. ALL SHOULD BE SAID IS LETS CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR BISHOP LONG, END OF STORY!

  28. Debbie O says:

It’s about time a preacher stand up and tell the darn truth. Staying 100 with the gospel truth. Church Black folks always want to put stuff under the rug and throw religion in it. You got to keep it real and be honest. Morton, you alright with me. You stood up and you gave it the word. I know them boys ain’t lying on that man. Eddie had time to get out but he choose not to. That fool had to be exposed. And for folks who put these boys down for this…my question is, have you ever been enticed by a fiqure you admired and involved yourself in something you can’t pull from on? Until you walk in these boys shoes, don’t say what they should’ve done,
Morton, thank you for stepping up. These other preachers did their cracklin behind closed doors and gave that fake empathy for Eddie and they no that fool was and is out of order. Thank you Morton for manning up and keeping it real!

  29. Debbie O says:

Oh…I was raised Baptist and when I was growing up, never once did I witness a man standing up before the church apologizing or repenting for messing with a woman or a man. But women/girls had to go before the church and apologize for getting caught with a man or getting pregnant. I always thought that was cruel toward the woman/girl. They should had open rebuke the men/preachers as well. They would had thought twice about their slutty behavior toward the parishoners.

  30. Theresa says:

Bishop Morton was not out of order! For those who think so do not know nor understand the word of God. Apostale Paul confronted Peter on his behavior in Antioch. Please read:

But when Peter came to Antioch, I had to oppose him to his face, for what he did was very wrong. When he first arrived, he ate with the Gentile Christians, who were not circumcised. But afterward, when some friends of James came, Peter wouldn’t eat with the Gentiles anymore. He was afraid of criticism from these people who insisted on the necessity of circumcision. As a result, other Jewish Christians followed Peter’s hypocrisy, and even Barnabas was led astray by their hypocrisy.

When I saw that they were not following the truth of the gospel message, I said to Peter in front of all the others, “Since you, a Jew by birth, have discarded the Jewish laws and are living like a Gentile, why are you now trying to make these Gentiles follow the Jewish traditions?
“You and I are Jews by birth, not ‘sinners’ like the Gentiles. Yet we know that a person is made right with God by faith in Jesus Christ, not by obeying the law. And we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we might be made right with God because of our faith in Christ, not because we have obeyed the law. For no one will ever be made right with God by obeying the law.”

But suppose we seek to be made right with God through faith in Christ and then we are found guilty because we have abandoned the law. Would that mean Christ has led us into sin? Absolutely not! Rather, I am a sinner if I rebuild the old system of law I already tore down. For when I tried to keep the law, it condemned me. So I died to the law—I stopped trying to meet all its requirements—so that I might live for God. My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless. For if keeping the law could make us right with God, then there was no need for Christ to die. Galatians 2:11-21 NLT

If another believer sins, rebuke that person; then if there is repentance, forgive. Even if that person wrongs you seven times a day and each time turns again and asks forgiveness, you must forgive. Luke 17:3-4 NLT

If Paul were here today he would rebuke Pastor Long and you would criticize him for it. People today would think that Paul should mind his own business and not judge his brother by the word of God. He probably would have been told not to cause any trouble and just keep his mouth closed. But Bishop Long started the trouble when he touched those boys.

Pastor Morton did not create the trouble! He is trying to help his brother in the Lord come out of sin and come back into right relationship with God! Only people who are indifferent toward sin and live a life of compromise would advise sin be left alone and truth allowed to be covered for the sake of so called peace. Pastor Long started this mess and Bishop Morton would not have been a true brother in Christ if he did not address it.
