Cultivate Your Thoughts By Dr. N. Cindy Trimm

The starting point of all achievements is the mind. If the mind can be likened to the soil of a garden, then thoughts would be the seeds we plant in that soil. Scientists have found that the average person thinks about 50,000 thoughts a day—that’s a lot of seed! Dr. Caroline Leaf in her book, Who Switched Off My Brain said, “What you think about expands and grows.†How much of what you are sowing is fruit-bearing and how much is more like thistle? The quality of the harvest of your life is determined by the quality and quantity of the seed you sow—or by the thoughts you cultivate. A thought, like a seed, is a container of life and potential that must be nurtured—fed, watered, protected, and harvested.
There are thoughts that hold the key to your future, and thoughts that can trip you up and choke the life force hidden within the amazing realm of cognition. Refuse to allow one weed to take over your seed of greatness, success, prosperity, wealth, righteousness, credibility, influence, affluence, favor, or peace. Your thoughts determine who you are, what you do, what you acquire, where you live, whom you love, who you will become, and what you will accomplish. You will never have more, go further, or accomplish greater things than what you can comprehend, perceive or visualize in your thoughts.
“In fact,†says Dr. Caroline Leaf, “your thoughts create changes right down to genetic levels, restructuring the cell’s makeup. Scientists have shown this restructuring is how diseases are able to take hold in the body. On the flip side, when we choose non-toxic thinking, we step into a whole new realm of brain and body function. “Feel good†chemicals are released that make us feel peaceful and also promote healing, memory formation and deep thinking, which increase intelligence when combined together. Healthy, non toxic thoughts help nurture and create a positive foundation in the neural networks of the mind.â€
Think positively about where you want to be. Your feet will never take you where your mind has never been. The beautiful thing about thinking is that it is something we all can do for free. Your background, education, socio-economic status, or IQ cannot prohibit you from thinking. Work consciously on displacing negative thoughts with positive ones. In order to do this, you must create a thinking environment, practice thinking for yourself, and then learn to think outside of the box.
Never lose the power to think for yourself. Your thoughts are powerful, and you have a God-given capacity to think potent thoughts. Grab hold of the concept of “possibility thinking.†If you can’t think it, then it won’t be possible for you. On the other hand, if you can think big, amazing thoughts, you will experience a big, amazing life! There is a big, bright tomorrow waiting for you. Take the limits from off your thinking. Remove the self-imposed lids. Author William Arthur Ward wrote, “Nothing limits achievement like small thinking.â€
Your thoughts determine your destiny. John Maxwell said, “Your destiny determines your legacy, and when you die your legacy determines your history.†Think about your future and what you truly want to accomplish in life and what steps you need to take to reach your goal. That’s what a pharmacist named Dr. John Stith Pemberton did when he took a jug of his cough syrup to a local drug store where carbonated water was added to produce what we now know as Coca-Cola. It was then bottled and marketed around the world, and today there is hardly a person on the planet who is not familiar with the name: Coca-Cola. Pemberton was able to think outside the box and expand the field of possibility.
Thought is defined as a “mental picture of something such as a future or possible event… an expectation or hope that something will happen.â€
I found this great definition online. Pay special attention to what I emphasized in bold:
Thought and thinking are mental forms and processes, respectively (“thought†is both). Thinking allows beings to model the world and to deal with it effectively according to their objectives, plans, ends, and desires. . . . –Thinking involves the mental manipulation of information, as when we form concepts, engage in problem solving, reason, and make decisions.
–Thought allows you to model the world according to your objectives and desires. The power tool of your thoughts is the most important tool you have when it comes to framing your world—it is also the most effective weapon you have against the enemy. Learn to focus your thoughts—harness and use them for maximum results!
The quality of your life is determined by the quality of your thoughts. You can begin today developing powerful thought habits that will turbo-charge your journey to destiny.

God’s Word says the mind of man is dangerous and deadly do not trust it, this article says basically to trust your thoughts, to dis-obey God’s Word in a nice way. You have No Quality thought out side of God’s Word the Bible friends. We are to live, move and breath from Every Word of God not our thoughts friends.
(Psalm 146:3) Do not put YOUR trust in nobles, Nor in the son of earthling man, to whom no salvation belongs.
(Psalm 56:11) In God I have put my trust. I shall not be afraid. What can earthling man do to me?
(John 7:31) Still, many of the crowd put faith in him; and they commenced saying: “When the Christ arrives, he will not perform more signs than this man has performed, will he?â€
(Ecclesiastes 7:20) For there is no man righteous in the earth that keeps doing good and does not sin.
(John 17:3) This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.
(Romans 8:6) For the minding of the flesh means death, but the minding of the spirit means life and peace;
There’s only one place I want to be. I want to be in God’s New Kingdom where Jesus Christ is King in the New Heaven and New Earth, this is where Eternal Life is and a relationship with God our Father. There is nothing else more important than this.
What about the Scripture that reads, “As a he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee. Proverbs 23:7 Or verses 9 and 12 of the same Proverb, also Philippians 4:8. God does not want us to think of the evil around us or done to us. His Kingdom is for righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost according to Romans 14:17. God sent His Son-Jesus to set us free from the worries of our thoughts and prisons they put us in. He is our freedom; they are just trying to get us to think on things above.
Phil 4:8 states “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
You can cultivate your thoughts!
Fruitful thinking, will produce fruitful action. Philippians 4:8 states, finally my brotheren (sisers as well), whatsoever things that are true. Think on these things. To think means to meditate. So the question is, what are we meditating on through out the day? Philippians tells us to think on things that are true. The only true thing that we should be meditating upon is, who we are in Christ and our postion we have in Christ. In John 8:31-32 tells us that if we continue in His word, that we would know (by faith) the truth, and the truth shall make us free. To continue means to remain or to stand firm.
We must stand firm in the word without any interruptions. This means no matter what the devil is trying to distract us with, God want us to stand firm in His word. God promised that if we continue in His word, it will make us free. To make means to produce, and God’s word is capable of producing change in the way we think, talk, feel, and walk. If we look into the perfect law of liberty, we would be blessed in our actions. I think that God is looking for doers of the word, how about you?
My comments were directed to duane. I love this article just to clarify.
