Impact…The New Christian TV Network!

It’s being billed as “the only African American founded national Christian television network; it’s called The Impact Network.
Bishop Wayne T. Jackson, is its founder and president, Bishop I.V. Hilliard is also a major stakeholder; other principles include Apostle Stanley Williams, senior pastor of Fire of the Word Faith Center in Jacksonville, FL.
According to Jackson, the Impact Network will consist of spiritual, social, political, and community oriented programming. Currently, the network broadcasts on Comcast channel 397 and on channel 40 (formerly WLPC, channel 26) on regular TV in Detroit, but will launch nationally on the DISH Network this week.
Impact Network wants to build out and have positive programs and productions, “We will include everything from health education all the way to spiritual and general education,†said Impact’s General Manager, Terry Arnold.
According to Jackson, the type of programming varies, and includes talk/reality shows, music videos, news, family programming, films, cooking shows, spiritual programming, comedy and community development.
One of the first shows announced is “Good News with Greg Davis†which will air Monday through Saturday at 5:00 pm EST. the show will include a variety of news, talk, empowerment and more. Davis formerly was host of “Rejoice in the Word†but resigned from that show a few weeks ago. Segments of Davis’ new show will be taped at various conventions and conferences and studios.
“Impact Network is a spiritually-based, family-oriented network that will help better the lives of our citizens through our programming,†Jackson stated.
It is very interesting that the advertising for the new Impact television show lacks diversity in terms of gender and age. Although I think the idea of us owning our own television show which can shape and influence thinking at a broader level is tremendous and much needed, I also think it is time for the Black church to consider the one-sided impact that a poster which is heavily male dominated brings.

WEll I very different from you because I am woman and i don’t think you are looking at the whole picture i assume the men that are on there are probably part owners or have endorsed the “impact network” in some way Im sure if any woman had she would be on the picture as well and i also believe that many times we let gender and race be a distraction from the enemy instead of rejoicing in what got has done ! just my thoughts on the matter!
This is history being made. It is the right time and the vision that these church leaders have will not only impact the African american christian base but will have a Impact on all Christians in the world today!!
This is a brand new network. Anything could happen. Honestly the article sounds premature and undeveloped. There may be diversity and gender in the makes. We are not owners or endorsers, so we surely do not know what could happen.

I applaude Bishop Wayne T. Jackson for what he has done. I think this is a wonderful opportunity for the Black Church, although i do agree with Pamela, that if we are going to promote a new Network of this magnatude, we should be mindful of what we are trying to convey to our black communities and abroad. It’s interesting that even though a multitude of us pay for programs like HBO and Cinemax as well as a host of others, many will complain about the price they have to pay to view this network. Overall, let’s keep the network and those that are and will be impacted in our prayers!

I Thank Bishop Wayne T. Jackson for his close walk with God whom He and is brothers in Christ are being lead over and over into God’s secret treasury for the people of God that we all may recieve what God is bringing to pass in the Last days. The host of Bishops and Pastors whom are at Bishop Jackson side all Mighty Men of God, Generals whom are helping God’s people to seek God and understand Harvest time is here for us. I did not know of Bishop Jackson until Impact these last few weeks, what a blessing it has been to watch his services and the wonder working power of God work through Bishop Jackson for healing miracles. I believe miracles are for the children of God that the world may see and be changed realizing God is real what he does for one he can do for anyone as we seek God and commit ourselves to him. I could go on and on. And also, these powerful Men of God working together have wives whom are strong sisters walking beside their husband how wonderful that is. Thank you Great Men of God for you being sold out for Our Father to reach his people. The Impact Network I feel will be a Master piece to God’s people Praise God! I will continue to pray for the Network and hope others will to do so and sowing is a must the Network will help the growth of all men through the Teachings, Wisdom, Revelations and Works coming forth through faithful children of God for the Kingdom of God. Let me tell you all something I am a female member of IV Hilliards Church: New Light Christian Center here in Houston, TX….and Bishop Hilliard is the greatest example of a man I have ever met…I mean this man absolutely adores his wife…he gives more women positions of leadership in our church than you can even begin to imagine!! He is a father of 3 girls and his daughter Iresha is the Heir Apparent of his entire ministry…that means she will be the one running the ministry when he retires…so you have no reason to fret in any way about whether or not this Network will make sure women have every opportunity to be more than fairly represented…so don’t even waste your time speaking negative in that regard…contact the network and watch what happens if you are offering quality teaching/preaching or any other type of ministry…I have no doubt you will be more than welcome on this network!!
Words cannot express the Godly impact that your network is having on people worldwide who are saved, lost, and yet to be saved. God’s continued complete Blessings upon you all, as you obey His voice! Keep the love, big dreams, and unity! God power!!!
The observation that Ms. Payne Foster is making is interesting,but I think is more improtant that we see ourselves doing what others have done triditionally without us, and will still do without us and our openions. I get tired of seeing ministries taking up money for people overseas and forgetting about people two to three miles away from their mega churches. This truely is a great opportunity get an indept prespective of what’s needed in our community. This is great for local Black businesses and organizations. Let’s work while it is day!
Love this channel, started watching this week on dish network, its so much diffefernt than the other channels i have watched I truly get to listen to Gods word, there is more word than offerings to buy the products, much needed in this time! I feel like im in church ! kids are not to happy becsuse I leave it on all the time! Thank God for the vision!
