Reader Responds: Female Pastors Is An Oxymoron!

Dear GT,

If you’re looking for a “religiously correct” letter, this is not one of them. You need to listen to BET, CNN, ABC, PBS, NPR, they’re pagan to the bone.

The safeguards set in motion by God are for a reason. You know the objections men and some women have about this. The constant promotion of female pastors is causing breakdown after breakdown [of] the established parameters God set for a vibrant Church.

Men just don’t have it in their makeup to allow a female to lead them by the nose as asses are. He doesn’t take them serious.

To a real man, God didn’t make his physique that way i.e. to hide behind a woman’s apron and allow her to take charge. This practice pervades the Church. To the youthful adolescent male these female pastors relay a confusing message of female dominance over the male species striking right at the male manhood. Women have become educated and figure they’re entitled to lead churches regardless of what Scripture says, they’ll skirt around what offends them. You know and I know what Scriptures they’ll use to justify it. Just as Eve took advantage of Adam because he loved her, her offspring is the same way today. It is why you got people like Oprah Winfrey and Barbara King—liberals to the bone. These types of female pastors never say anything about Obama supporting sodomy since their congregations are 95% female. Just the other day I adorned my wife with a Jewish shawl, she doesn’t give in to the temptation to wear pants in the Church, she wouldn’t dare. She doesn’t abandon her female femininity in favor of looking like a harlot, tramp and whore, I’ll give her all my money, big deal, God bless her. She has never asked me to compliment her about wearing pants; I’ve always complimented her about her gorgeous dresses and stunning skirts from Neimans and SAKS.

Please help a sister our here in Choctaw County being a women in ministry it is hard because the women here is our bigest problem. I am planning a confrence in my i need help form you lady pastor.

  2. Suzanne Williams says:

Are you kidding me! Why are female pastors such a threat to “male dominance”?Pastor is another term for shepherd. Tell me there were no shepherdesses in Israel. Tell me there were no female judges. Tell me there were no women prophets. The term is neuter, neither male nor female. Because the devil conterfeits God’s work does not render God’s work invalid. Are we not all trying to do God’s will? What does a “title” mean? I thought we were over the pants argument. Decorum is what is needed…decent and in order. In biblical days and even now in some cultures, pants or pantaloons are worn by women and men wear wrap arounds, skirts, or dresses. These things are only distractions to keep us from the plan and purpose that God has for our lives.

  3. Shantel Williams says:

All I can say is OMG! this person needs some serious prayer! Slavery was not acceptable in the Biblical days, nor is it acceptable now! What I truly love about my church is that we wear pants, shorts, skirts, whatever! the Bible says come as you are! Now let’s get real, sir, I have experienced men in my old church who used to look at women on the floor praying when they had on a skirt.. they also responded in the pulpit about big butts! I was so shocked and it stopped me from going to prayer when I was a member of that ministry! I am not going to lock myself up just to protect your sinful desires! That’s where it comes in to play about women wearing cloth from head to toe just so another man can not look and get tempted! that sounds like a weak minded individual to me! What about the woman that directed General Barack in battle… they would have lost if God did not give her the message to give him to defeat the enemy! What is the matter with you? What is so bad about women pastor’s! I find them to be safe because some male pastors like to have relations with the congregation.. let’s get real! I have also seen that it is all about control with some men pastors! My old pastor wanted people to purchase him a ring so we can pass by and kiss it! Man, you got to be kidding! I only kiss and acknowledge Jesus! My pastor speaks all of the time about the title reverand! YOu are only suppose to reverand God! that is the reason why some pastor’s get beside themselves… you are not God and will never be God! Act like a chief servant, which is what you are! The Bible talks about Bishops, which can be in a male figure.. especially because is says be a husband of one wife… obviously! Sir, you need to get down on your knees and ask God for forgiveness! When Adam told God, “the woman you gave me” even back then, the male species has been disrespectful to women! WE are your sisters, aunts, mothers, grandmothers, nieces, daughters, and even leaders!

  4. Anitra Green says:

Ladies, if we promise the Lord to live by His Word, aren’t we to honor ALL of His Word? We are to honor the parts we agree with and the parts that may be hard for us to understand. We don’t get to pick and choose and tell the Lord what parts of His Word we accept, like, agree with, don’t agree with, etc. I agree that the wearing of pants is not a matter of salvation but and as babes in Christ, yes, we should come to Him as we are. The church should love us and embrace us witht he love of Christ while we grow into mature, seasoned saints. We should COME as we are but we should not STAY as we are. Staying as we are would mean no spiritual growth. There should be a reverence for the temple of God. We should not want to enter God’s holy place the same way we would a club or a basketball game or any other function. We should want to present ourselves in a Godly manner. We submit to dress codes in the workplace, in the club (no sneakers, etc.) so what’s so bad about submitting to a dresscode in the house of God? Is God any less than the boss or the club owner. Give honor where honor is due…And it is due Him! In regards to women Pastoring and becoming bishops, etc., well…
    I Timothy 2:11-15
11 A woman[a] should learn in quietness and full submission. 12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man;[b] she must be quiet. 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner. 15 But women[c] will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety.

    ITimothy 3:1-5
1This is a true saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.

    2A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

    3Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;

    4One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;

5(For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)

Those scriptures speak clear to me, there is no neutral tone to those directives. If there’s someone I should question or doubt about this command for living holy, it’s not the brother who posted the comment, it’s the Lord Himself…better yet, ask Eve?

There is a place for women in the Kingdom. We are to teach other women, younger women. Because we stopped doing that, there was room to post an article in the most recent edition of GH about the rise in teen pregnancies. So we as women, we have work to do…it’s just that some don’t want to do what we’ve been assigned to do, we want to do what WE want to do. Women pray, prophecy, lead in the workplace, we are administrators of our households, we start and run businesses, we replenish the earth, we are the helpmeet to society. There is no existance without us! I am proud to be a woman of God, called to do many things in Christ, but I understand (as commanded by God), the boundaries that are a reality. And boundaries aren’t bad, they’re just necessary. His ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not our thoughts and because I trust God, I’m going to His Word, whether I understand it or not.

  5. Just Sayin' says:

    AMEN to Ms. Anitra Green!!!!
That’s all I’ve got to say about that. I’m proud to be a woman doing what I’m called, anointed, and appointed to do – teach (other) women!

“..herein is God glorified…” and that’s what matters to me.

    Blessings!

  6. Dear GT,

Thank you for the article regarding Women Pastors, it was so encouraging. I have been Pastoring for 7 years and I must admit it has been an up hill battle. Seeing the magazine made me smile and I found great comfort as I spent time reading their words. Since I picked up the magazine I have carried it around and I share it with other Women Pastor friends of mine. Although there are some people against the idea of us leading a church there are many that God is changing their lives through the Word he gives us to teach. I believe that in these last days God is raising up the spiritual Deborah’s that the Word of God in Judges 4 speaks of. A Prophetess called by God, able to judge with wisdom, spiritual mothers in Zion (the church) to a lost generation, strong enough to go to battle and a woman that will possess the land. Thanks again for the article.

  7. Benita Duff says:

Amen Dr. Floyd. The word is the word. If God can use a donkey, (by no means am I comparing Women to an animal) He can use whomever or whatever He chooses. He used Mary at the tomb to go tell that Jesus is risen! The anointing is the anointing. Say it, See it, Believe It, Receive It! Amen Jesus!

  8. p.a cutler says:

+++++++++++++++++++SOME WORDS MAY BE SPELLED INCORRECTLY+++++++++++++++++

I may sound a little crazy and off key but here i go.

Can some one tell me what’s All this talk about? For the person’s that are talking about Woman preaching or teaching the Word Of God, What is truly the problem? Is it that you are not sure of who you are in CHRIST?

If your complaint is the woman, what did you say about the Man that God had to continueously deal with about not doing what he told them to do by leading the people astray. See from what I’ve seen in my BIBLE and I hope yours also is this,( let’s stop interpering the Word Of GOD to fit what we want it to mean and just do what it says for us to do) We all go astray, but GOD can help us to get back on track. if we study HIS WORD he will give us the keys that unkock whatever we need to become open. MAN & WOMAN

Yes —- GOD did give HIS – Word to the MAN, but than the Man gave the Word of GOD to the DEVIL by NOT doing what GOD told him !!! ( o’kay here you go again blaming it on the WOMAN, but what did GOD say for the Man to do and NOT to do? You can’t tell me that he did it for the LOVE that he had for the WOMAN, because he had a RELATIONSHIP of LOVE WITH GOD before he every had a WOMAN.

Now I’ve read the comments on this subject and here is another one to add on to it:

I see and can agree on a lot of the comments and I can also dissagree with a lot of them but the REAL answer is WHAT does GOD’s WORD SAY about all of this?

Lets stop all this about pants and things- back in those days the Man was wearing LONG DRESSES, Skirts not pants, there is so much more to the WORD of GOD than this stuff. LET GOD DO THE TRANSFORMATION THOUGH THE WORD OF GOD. Just teach the word with love and kindness have I (GOD) drown you, but if your Leadership say’s that the house has a dress code don’t rebel or don’t affend anyone just try to do it. It’s better to WIN them for CHRIST insted)

While we are disagreeing about all this SOUL’s are not coming in, because they are saying I can get all this in the world and I don’t need it in the church to. (where is the differance so lets not seperate from one another but seperate unto GOD.

Ms Green stated the TRUE WORD of GOD in 1 Timothy 2:11-15 but we must not just look at these scriptures only, we must also relate them to the time and the reason that these statements were made.

He’s my point of view: I can be corrected

    1) Some studies say that the man and the woman were seperated, man on 1 side and the woman on the other side (I can see that)so the quietness (I believe was needed due to the woman not understanding what was being said at that time) So she YELLED over to the other side to ask her husband (THE LEADERSHIP of her home)what did a statement mean.

So Timothy pened a Woman should be Quiet. I believed due to disorder inthe church.

    2) NOW about full submission (this is a wounderful thing if we can only try and get this word under control. I believe that GOD did not mean for us as a people to be under a bondage of submission but to try and enbrace the word of submission.

There is a book that is still helping me to work on MY Submission. titlied-

—”SUBMISSION: IMPOSSIBLE (LAURA HARRIS SMITH – ISBN # 1-591601-25-8)

I’m not getting anything out of giving you the title of this book but someone needs help from the understanding of missunderstanding the word submission.

++++++For the word submission only means (to agree, to come under)to TRUST with out sometimes knowing what might happen, but to also know that we are putting ourselves under someone else care. +++++ hoping that they are 1st submitted to GOD for instruction.

Now the word of GOD say’s submit one to another (that tells me that we all are to be submitted to GOD first, than HE (GOD) will teach us to trust so that we do not mind submitting (TRUSTING)TO ONE ANOTHER.

    2) V 12-15

I beleive (and it’s just my belief that )the Devil was talking to THEM not just the WOMAM. (the bible say’s “and SHE the woman took and gave to her husband to eat”) So why ( Mr or Ms ) Female Pastors are Oxymoron, didn’t the MAN that was to be the LEADER over the WOMAN, NOT step up in the LEADERSHIP that GOD gave him? What every reason it was for him not steping up to GIVE GOD’s WORD (speak) to the DEVIL as he knew he should have done but he didn’t.

Now by him (man) not speaking GOD’s Word, he not only opened up the door for the devil but he also gave the WOMAN her 1st platform to Speak in his stead. “GOOD or BAD” !!! for she is his help meet when he will or will not speak (due to the Leadership of him not letting the woman know her place in GOD, here GOD aloud these thing to happen to start a pateren of his work on this earth.

Than as we read on in our bible we see many more times that the man (Leadership) went againest GOD’s Word and God brgain to speak to the WOMAN also and the Woman spoke to the MAN what GOD had said to her. (I call that Preaching, TEACHING, Proclaiming – SPEAKING.

SO GOD did not see them as 2 but 1 for the WOMAN was formed out of the MAN but they worked as 1 for the same cause.

    Per the Scripture–1 Timothy 3:15

I believe that a WOMAN can do whatever the BIBLE say’s to do except become a BISHOP due to the fact that I find no where in scriture that say’s a WOMAN can hold a office of a BISHOP. (if ther is please tell me where) now with saying that I must also say this:

+++++((I) we were not their when GOD spoke to anyone but us)+++++

They’re some woman as they’re some man that are very controling and act unlike what we think christians or Pastors should act like but who are we to say that GOD did not call them to be Pastors. Yes you will know them by their fruits (expect them and if you fill that the fruit is nor right consult GOD on what you shoud do.

(what you shoud do, not for you to tell any one elso what to do)

The Word of GOd say’s “let the wheat and the teir grow together and he will do the seperating.

I love ALL my sisters and brothers in the body of our lord we can agree to disagree but souls are being lost while we are doing it

    sis/min: pat

  9. Tracy says:

I agree with GOD’s Word (HIS Divine Truth). 1st Tim 2:11-15. Period. No gray areas. Or else, HE wouldn’t have said it. If you don’t understand it, ask Holy Spirit to help you. It’s a two (2) edged sword. There are a lot of scriptures (medicine) I don’t like, but, it is what it is. There’s too many churches & people of God asking, “what do you think?”, “how does it make you feel?” Listen….GOD SAID IT, So we’re gonna do it!!! And, we don’t vote on it!!!
