Gay rights…Not a Matter of Civil rights!

Since 2008, there has been a growing sense of outrage levied at Black traditionalists by gay activists. In Washington, DC. The predominately white same sex marriage movement recruited several handsome, young black leaders to be citywide spokespersons. This strategic move was designed to combat the impression that white gays have been attempting “ to hijack” the Civil Rights movement.

A document called “The Gay Manifesto” (which many gays say was only a satirical document) contains the following: “All churches who condemn us will be closed. Our only gods are handsome young men…We shall rewrite history, history filled and debased with your heterosexual lies and distortions. We shall por- tray the homosexuality of the great leaders and thinkers who have shaped the world. We will demonstrate that homosexuality is a requirement for true nobility, true beauty in a man.”

Whether the manifesto first printed in 1987 was satire or not, it has paralleled the strategic thinking of gay activist leaders for years. Here are two appropriate questions:

1. “ Will the church be free to preach an un- compromised Gospel, which includes Biblical guidelines for sexuality?”
2. “ Will gay activism create an atmosphere in our schools that intellectually seduces our children into non-Biblical lifestyles?”
All around the world preach- ers have been arrested or fined for “hate speech” for preaching about human sexuality from the Bible—from the Ake Green case in Sweden to the fines levied on public officials in Canada.

I have personally been harassed and have received death threats because of my views of Biblical “sexual integrity.” Schools will become the next political battle ground. If our entire nation’s marriage laws are redefined, it will require a redefinition of education and its role in culture. If the school, not the parents, are given the responsibility to teach our kids about sex; a tsunami of change will occur in education. Books like “ Heather has two mommies” or “The Prince and the Prince” have come to be taught in the 2nd grade in Massachusetts. In Maryland today; sex education classes discuss oral, anal, and vaginal use of condoms with middle schoolers.

Since gays cannot reproduce, they must create a climate in which they can recruit. The future of our families and our grandchildren is at stake.

In conclusion, let us remember that both Scripture and com- mon sense calls us to seize the moment and respond to the crisis in our culture. If the church does not teach the word of God within its doors and engage in the democratic process outside of its doors, radical redefinition of basic life concepts will occur. These redefinitions will affect how the next generation thinks about family and marriage. There can be no truces in this war. It’s a winner take all battle. In many ways gay activists will not stop until they are “more equal” than the rest of us.

I find this article to be so refreshing! It shows that not everyone is sitting back and silently giving in to the gay agenda. I pray that the church will wake up and not be scared to stand for what is right! We know what thus says the Lord and we, as His people are charged with keeping His commandments. We must spread the good news of the gospel. I pray that we will all rise to the challenge and see what we can do in our communities to teach the truth about gay/lesbian lifestyles. Stand for Christ like He died for us! Fear NOT!

  2. I am very concerned about the direction the Gay movement is going. What you do in your bedroom should not dictate the push upon my children or everyone else. I am concern how a sexual act chosen by two adults is trying to totally Stop the Gospel of Jesus Christ. You can choose to stop being gay but you can’t choose to stop being African American or Black. They need to stop justifying a sexual act as a Civil Right. I only see the fall of American if we don’t stand up!

  3. Gods Word is clear on Marriage. While God truly Loves all Mankind, we have to be very careful to Teach , Preach and most important live the truth even in our Secret Lives.Gods loves us all but he does not love the sin.

  4. I find it quite exhilerating to live in the midst of such a paradigm shift in history. Issues like sexuality in the context of holiness reminds and recalls me to the discipline of rightly dividing the Word of God. Bible STUDY is an absolute must for those of us who will walk worthy of the Vocation wherein we are Called…

I am so happy this issue is being discussed. I see this issue taking root in America and it causes me apprehension. It seems like the church is afraid to address this issue as well as others that goes against political correctness. Our morality is this nation is being assaulted and if the churches who name the name of Christ doesn’t rise up and be what it is called to be then we are indeed headed for decline. We should stop thinking of this as a political issue. It is not a Democrat issue nor a Republican issue, but a moral one. Who best to speak and stand up than the Body of Christ. If we don’t then we should prepare ourselves for our children to bring home Heather Has Two Mommies as required reading. God help us to speak out and stand because if we keep quiet then the world will not hear the voice of the Almighty being spoken in these last days.

  6. Rev. Theresa O. Wyatt says:

There is a vast difference between Civil Rights, protecting rights, liberty and freedom based on race, religion, or creed, and the Gay Rights movement, with its agenda. The agenda of the Gay Rights movement is to legitimize and moralize sexual orientation and preference for same sex sensuality. I hesitate to describe it as “relations,” because sexual relations relate to and require intimacy stemming from the spiritual and sensual role of the genitalia of opposite sexes with respect to the other. Gay behavior occurs when a person lusts for his/her own sex and chooses to act on it in the furtherance of a lifestyle choice. Likewise, predisposition may take the form of any number of behavioral aberrations, some of which may have a biological component. For esample, some babies were born predisposed to drug abuse, not by any fault of their own. That begs the question should such children have a free pass to live their lives feeding illegal and harmful drug habits? Another example is to explore whether a born Kleptomaniac have a carte blanc to shoplift or rob a bank? Should a Claustrophobic live outdoors, even in sub zero weather, never to have shelter by his own choosing? THE ANSWER IS NO! It is imperative that our society stnd up and say NO to the supposed lifestyle alternative of the Gay movement.

  7. Rev. Theresa O. Wyatt says:

There is a vast difference between Civil Rights and Gay Rights. The Civil Rights movement was to protect liberty and freedom regardless of race, religion, or creed. The Gay Rights movement is to legitimize and moralize an aberration, namely the lust for sexual relations by and between same sex partners. As a Christian I realize that the biblical meaning of sex relations or “knowing” one another is to occur in marriage between a man and a woman of God’s choosing. However, in human nature, sometimes people are even born with predispositions which are not in the interest of their survival, spiritually nor physically. This is why we all need Christ.

  8. ANGEL says:

Yes, the answer is the proper exercise of our divine authority because Jesus said the gates of Hell shall not prevail, also I love Ephesians 3:10–we are to instruct powers and principalities that order and sponsor these demonic tactics to be manifested through our political systems. We are not to be intimidated by the homosexual radical activists! There is a distinction between people struggling with homosexual desires, homosexuals who have a heart to repent and those whom are footsoldiers of the kingdom of darkness; church members must be taught the distinctions and how to intelligently and with spiritual discernment decipher what the real issue is and then articulate in prayer and at the polls. None of what the homosexual activists (I do not call them gay because the unperverted denotation of the word “gay”, related to the word “gaiety” actually has nothing to do with sexual preference) want is even legal or constitutional; this is why they are relying so heavily on the force of culture–betting on the ignorance of the vast majority of Americans about just what our rights are.

  9. Jay Davis says:

This article is extraordinary in its lack of facts and using fear mongering language. The same arguments that are made in this article are being used by “Christian” leaders in Uganda to push legislation outlawing homosexuality, arresting and jailing people who do not come forth to report known homsexual family or friends and allowing for the execution of openly gay men and women. The very same rhetoric of hate in this article appear in Uganda. DO NOT cover your homophobic fears in the pages of the Bible. At most there are 7 references to men sleeping with men in the Bible and only once reference of women with women. And NO Sodom was NOT destroyed because of homosexuality but for inhospitality to the sojourners and if anything sexual, for rape. There are more references to loving each other than to homosexuality. There are more Biblical references to circumcision than to homosexuality, more references to proper animal sacrifice than homosexuality and yet anti-gay Christians never focus on all these abominations. There is growing evidence that most gay people ere born as gay and were not “recruited” into that lifestyle. IF this is true then it would mean God created gay people and I for one, do not want to tell God “oh gosh did you make a mistake.” Two people who love each other are not wrong…not in God’s eyes and I firmly believe that because true God given love can NEVER be wrong and two men can and do love each other as can two women. The Bible is not anti-gay, it is those who narrowly and literaly interpret the Bible in only certain areas that fit their vested interests that make it that way. Jesus came to save ALL people even homosexuals and even those who hate them and use his words as swords to do so. Gays come in all shapes, sizes and races….they have diverse political and spiritual views and many continue to be strong participants in churches that condem them…. There is no “gay agenda” other than to be allowd to live without fear of persecution, bullying, threat of death and to be allowed to love another person and see God through a window of love. Stop using religion to hate and learn to love….There was no love shown in this article…you must have missed all those Biblical stories… GOD IS LOVE! AMEN

  10. Minister Gerald M. Palmer, MSW says:

As a black preacher who has spoken out against anti-gay rhetoric like Bishop Harry Jackson’s, I have been threatened, I have had death threats sent my way, I have lost friends, I have been ran out of a church I loved.

Because I will never go back to a closed minded gospel. People like Harry Jackson have hijacked the Gospel of Jesus Christ as they struggle with their own issues and project their pain on others.

God made no mistakes when He created our Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgeder brothers and sisters. Sexual orientation is a gift from God and not curse.

I agree with Jay, God is LOVE!!!
