Although we have many new ways to reach the world with the Gospel, we have been unable to cleanse our culture of its evil, demonic vices. In fact, it seems that worldly corruption has increased and even crept its way right into our pews and pulpits causing many of the faithful to turn away.

“We must seek to engage our culture on the basis of love and not from a place of offence,” explains Bishop Michael Pitts, pastor of Cornerstone Church, Toledo, OH and contributor to this month’s Gospel Today.

The Word of God is the final authority without question or error. To effectively impact the lives of those in need of deliverance that live in our space, we must intentionally contextualize the timeless truth of the Word and make it relevant to today’s culture.

Additionally, it is important that we depend on the Holy Spirit working through us, helping us to DO the will of God daily. In turn, others may see Christ in us and be changed!

My pastor does not condemn people for what there doing, but rather invites them to services to hear the Word of God.

It’s all about love & caring enough to confront. I do believe we should confront those who are in sin especially those leaders who impact the lives of the congregation. It is a way to go about confronting them because we should want that person to be “delivered” and not “lost” or sink deeper into what he or she is in. You most definitely must be prayed up and follow the leading of the Holy Ghost. Please refer to how King David was confronted by the prophet Nathan when he committed adultery with Bathsheba. The prophet simply went to him and gave him a story about a man having one little “ewe” lamb and another rich man having many sheep. The rich man with many sheep stole the little ewe lamb(Read: II Samuel Chapter 12). As the story goes, Nathan begin to tell David about what he had done wrong and God saw it. So it is the way we go about confronting them without condemning or condoning their wrong.

  3. Cender says:

He without sin please cast the first stone, God says he is the judge and the judge alone. We have to start lending a hand instead of pointing of the finger and the hand.

  4. pastor wdc says:

we as pastors must confront the evil desires of the heart as quick as possible. the Bible states, “who can take fire into his bosom and not be burned.” pastors you are not to compromise the Word of God.

  5. This article fits right in with my sermon for Sunday Morning, Galatians 6: 1 – 4, entitled “To Be Or Not To Be!” It is not just the job of the Minister, but of every member to correct and reclaim those members who have fallen as victims to fault and failure, and to do so in the spirit of meekness. We are all called to live by the Law of Christ.
